YOUTH EVENTS
From time to time, CRAW likes to host youth sail events that tie in with regattas on our season schedule. What in the heck does this mean? It means we offer a hands-on experience with our skilled skippers. Your child will suit up alongside our skippers and get a brief lesson on how to sail. Yes, your child will get to go out on the water under the safety of one of our members!
We often also have games and activities on dry-land for those who may not be as bold to get out on the water or are too young to harness up. If you’re up for it, we highly recommend getting out on the water with a pro! The youth event may not take place the following year and we’d hate for you to miss out on the opportunity.

One of the ways we grow our club is by attracting families through the youth events. Many of our current club members were founded by the youth sail events and started crewing for our skippers at a very young age. Our goal is to keep the sailing sport alive and to do that, we need younger generations to experience the rush of the wind in their face and the coolness of the water first hand.
Let’s be upfront, we don’t expect any parents to run off and buy a boat for their youngster! However, if your child has interest in learning more or potentially crewing, let’s chat! We always have skippers willing to teach and show the ropes (pun intended) while on the water. Even our most competitive skippers are willing to slow things down to get a novice some experience.
