Rock & Roll Regatta 2018 Recap
As always the Rock Lake regatta was a great start to our sailing season. Thank You to JJ and Judy for having us again this year! With 10 boats it was a decent turn out with some close racing.
Saturday brought warm weather with light and shifty winds which made for tough racing and a lot of lead changes. The wind shut off almost completely around 3 PM and races were abandoned. After a total of 3 races the Hearn team was in first followed by Brent, and then Selsmeyer. Judy organized and hosted a great dinner for everyone, which we cannot thank her enough for.
Sunday morning was cold and raining with light wind. As soon as the weather let up a bit everyone was dressed warm and ready to head out on the water for more racing. There were some large shifts and light air in the morning but the wind slowly picked up and gave some boats the opportunity to trapeze. The Hearn team sailed very well and were difficult to catch for all three races on Sunday and they ran away with the lead for the regatta. Dale made some big moves on Sunday and moved up to second place, followed by Blake and Fast Eddy.
Overall the regatta was once again a success! Despite some light air and cold weather everyone had a great time!
