Commodore’s Newsletter – April 2023

Greetings all-

Only three weeks until the start of another CRAW season!  Looking forward to another fun summer of racing.

Briefly, a few items as we prepare for the start of the season:

USF 18 grant

I am pleased to announce that CRAW has been awarded a USF 18 Regional Regatta Support grant in the amount of $300, to be used in conjunction with our event at Two Rivers.  I will have more details regarding this grant in the near future.

Sheboygan event

There will not be an event in Sheboygan this summer; the venues are all booked through October.  However, Jesse continues to be in discussion with the city, and it’s looking promising that we’ll be able to stage an event there in 2024. Thank you Jesse for your ongoing work on this.

Rock and Roll regatta

I’m looking for two or three more people to help out on race committee for our upcoming opening event.  If you are not planning on racing that weekend and are available to assist, please let me know.

Madtown Throwdown regatta

Looking ahead to the Madtown Throwdown regatta (July 8-9), I am inquiring to see if anyone might be available to assist me in organizing and running this event. This would include help with organizing the dinner and arranging transportation for the rib/van to the venue.  Any assistance would be most appreciated.  Thanks in advance.
